Mix 102.3 launches toy drive to give back this Christmas

Mix 102.3 are wanting to give back this Christmas, so they have launched a toy drive with all donated toys going to local charity Backpacks 4 SA Kids!

Backpacks 4 SA Kids exists to provide resources that contribute to the care, safety and well-being of children and young people during periods of dislocation from home and routine care.

Mix 102.3 have partnered with Toymate who have kickstarted the drive by donating $5K worth of toys!

Mix 102.3 Content Director explains, “You can head to your local Toymate store at Colonnades or Marion and donate a brand-new unwrapped toy, or a Toymate gift card. Gift cards are preferable so that Backpacks 4 SA Kids can purchase toys for the specific kids in need.”

If you have your heart set on providing a present, the real areas of need for Backpacks 4 SA Kids include teenagers and newborn babies.

Backpacks 4 Kids for SA Kids Rachael Zaltron explains, “I am always amazed by the community surrounding Backpacks 4 SA Kids. This year we have been blown away not only with the support from the general public but an incredible $5000 donation made possible by ToyMate and Mix 102.3 because of this support we can ensure no child who will be left behind this Christmas. We can’t wait to see how this partnership continues to make a difference to kids in crisis in SA.”

The team are encouraging donations of board games, rubiks cubes, puzzles, and sporting gear which are great for teens and anything aimed at newborn to 18 months is perfect for the babies.

Backpacks 4 SA Kids request no gift over $30, and have asked to please avoid books, DVDs, and anything food or weapon orientated (i.e., Nerf guns).

The Toy Drive ends Wednesday 20 December.

Adelaide listeners are encouraged to shop the biggest and best range of toys this Christmas at Toymate. Visit Toymate Colonnades or Toymate Marion today, or toymate.com.au.

Mix102.3, as part of the KIIS Network, is proud to bring joy to the people of Adelaide
