Doubling up to support vulnerable mothers

The Village Co. is one of 15 charities around Australia set to benefit from a dollar-for-dollar fundraising campaign that will run over a two-week period in March 2024.

The Village Co. is pleased to announce their selected dates for the Double Donation Campaign will be Wednesday 13th March and Thursday 14th March 2024. It is hoping for a significant response from its loyal network of supporters.

“Through the Double Donation Campaign, we’re not just raising funds; we’re doubling our commitment to the well-being of vulnerable mothers and their families,” said Steph Malan, CEO of The Village Co.

This campaign is our chance to ensure that mothers and children have the support they need for a healthy start in life.

“Every matched donation enables us to provide critical support to an additional 150 women in Rural and Remote areas of South Australia, offering them essential hygiene products, breastfeeding support, and food relief during their most challenging times,” she said.

The Double Donation Campaign is powered by the Beyond Bank Australia Foundation, the charitable arm of Beyond Bank, which works closely with not-for-profit organisations around the nation to ensure that they have the support they need to grow and prosper.

This is the fifth year for the successful fundraiser, which saw more than $330,000 going back into the local community in 2023.

Each charity will be given two days to encourage supporters to donate a tax-deductible amount that will then be matched by Beyond Bank, up to a total amount of $10,000 per charity.

At the close of the fundraising event, the final donations will be tallied, doubled and provided straight back to each charity to use in its various community programmes.

“The ongoing cost of living crisis has increased the number of Aussies experiencing financial and emotional stress – resulting in an increase of people seeking support services from charities,” said Peter Rutter, Chief Community and Strategy Officer, Beyond Bank Australia.

“What we’re seeing is that many of these charities are struggling to provide their usual services due to rising costs, increased demand and a drop in donations,” he said.

All of the charities involved provide real frontline support, assisting the people and families most in need.

“Beyond Bank is proud to provide another way for community organisations to strengthen the impact of their fundraising, allowing them to continue to provide these services for their local communities,” Peter said.

The Double Donation Campaign kicks off on Wednesday 13th of March. Beyond Bank will announce the final fundraising results after the campaign.
