Big Tops & Tiny Tots Circus Show: A silly circus adventure for ages 3-7

After a SELL OUT season at the last Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Big Tops & Tiny Tots Circus Show returns to Adelaide Fringe to delight the next generation of preschoolers in this show made just for little ones.

With a whole host of fun physical challenges, solo performer Luth Wolff looks to her audience of giggle-ready 3-7 year olds to help her learn how to ride a unicycle, spin hula hoops and make healthy choices in a non-stop whirlwind of circus fun.

After such an increase in screen time thanks to online learning, Wolff believes it’s more important than ever that kids can experience live performance.

“I’m not a TV – you can’t pause or rewind me, and I can see, hear and respond to the kids directly”, she says.

Socially distanced circus show

Even socially distanced, the show is hugely interactive, depending on the kids to shout out answers and tell the performer when she’s getting it wrong.

Big Tops & Tiny Tots has been made specifically for younger children, drawing on a decade of experience performing in preschools and primary schools around Australia. Luth has taken the show on the road and performed everywhere from tiny towns in the middle of the outback, high-rise preschools in city CBD’s, and even the on-site preschool in Canberra’s Parliament House – where she left her mark on our nation’s capital by accidentally scraping the ceiling with her hula hoops.

Wolff’s last public performance was on the final day of Adelaide Fringe last year. “It was surreal to stand on stage and think “This is it. My last show for who knows how long””. She escaped the lockdowns in her Melbourne home to move to Darwin, where she has spent her year of hibernation teaching circus skills in indigenous communities across the top end.

It’s been such a hard year, particularly for families with young kids, and Wolff wants to make it as easy as possible for families to return to seeing live performance this Fringe.

Half priced tickets for all parents

She’s offering half-priced tickets to all parents coming to Big Tops & Tiny Tots Circus Show at Gluttony.

“The show is made for young kids. Parents will have fun too, but I don’t want to charge them full price when the show isn’t focused on them.”

If cheap accompanying adult tickets means parents can afford to go and see an adults show as well, well that’s a win for everybody.

“Artists are desperate to get back on stage. I’m so impressed with the plans in place to keep everybody safe at Fringe, and I can’t wait to feel the buzz of a live audience again”.

Big Tops & Tiny Tots Circus Show is playing at The Ukyio in Gluttony, every weekend of Fringe.
