BIG PICTURE SERIES TAKES OVER THE PORT FOR ADELAIDE FRINGE

Port Adelaide streets come to life between 26 February – 20 March as part of Adelaide Fringe

If you’re a fan of the annual Wonderwalls festival at historic Port Adelaide, then you’ll be keen to discover a hidden world this summer with The BIG Picture Series –  an immersive, self-guided tour of the Port as part of the 2022 Adelaide Fringe festival. This is your opportunity to see the port-side region’s ‘Wonderwalls’ in an entirely different light complete with Augmented Reality sculptures and animated works.

Family Friendly Event

Between Saturday 26 February and Sunday 20 March 2022, the family-friendly and COVID-safe event features eight new Augmented Reality artworks by a stellar lineup of talented local and international artists including Etam Cru, Dave Court, Vans The Omega, Charles & Janine Williams, Kurt Bosecke, Sam Songailo, Elizabeth Close and Demsky J.

Presented by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield alongside curator Vans The Omega (aka Joel Van Moore), The BIG Picture Series is your chance to experience the dynamic and evolving Port like you’ve never seen before – in your own time and in your own way! Simply download the app on an Apple or Android device and scan eight Augmented Reality artworks throughout the Port. 

This is the latest instalment for The BIG Picture Series which will kick off with many local businesses in the area activating their spaces and offering deals and offers on Saturday 26 February. Grab a map from Lighthouse Square to begin your exploration journey while you’re at it, you can check out a number of local businesses and venues that are offering special events and deals. Gothic pop-bar Confession will feature a stack of great performances every Thursday to Sunday throughout Fringe while Pirate Life will help you customise your VR tour experience with a picnic pack that you can enjoy wherever you’d like along the way. 

The BIG Picture Series app contains a digital map, however, a physical map will be available to collect from the Visitor Information Centre (located at 66 Commercial Road, Port Adelaide) from Saturday 26 February. 

The BIG Picture Series @ the Port is a COVID-safe free event from 8 am – 8 pm
26 Feb – 20 Mar 2022 on the streets of Port Adelaide.
