Torrens Valley Christian School wins most outstanding tennis school in Australia

Torrens Valley Christian School is celebrating a historic victory, having been awarded the coveted 2023 Newcombe Medal for Most Outstanding School at the Australian Tennis Awards.

This prestigious honour recognises the school’s exceptional commitment to fostering a thriving tennis community among its R-12 students.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to bring home this prestigious award,” says Emily Brookes, Principal of Torrens Valley Christian School. “This win is a testament to the dedication of our students, coaches, and staff who have poured their hearts into building a vibrant and successful tennis program, and creating a safe environment for these students to flourish.”

Torrens Valley Christian School’s winning formula is built on several key pillars:

  • Regular internal tournaments: Providing students with competitive opportunities to hone their skills and build sportsmanship
  • Hotshots Tennis programs: Introducing young children to the joys of tennis through a playful and engaging curriculum
  • Curriculum integration: Dedicating space within the curriculum for students who want to excel in tennis alongside their academic studies
  • Partnership with Hope Valley Tennis Club: Collaborating with experienced coaches like Josh Crowe to provide students with top-notch training and facilities
