Here at KIDDO, we’re all about ‘snackcidents’ (especially midnight ones), and this hot chocolate sleep supplement just fell right into our hands! Who doesn’t love a nice warm, delicious, soothing hot chocolate before bed? We sure do!!

Are you ready for the hot chocolate of your dreams (pun intended)? There is nothing better than a delicious hot choccy to end your day on a high note – and we feel pretty confident you’re going to love this sweet chocolate treat every night before bed just as much as we do. No guilt, no nasties, no insomnia, just sweet sweet hot chocolate, followed by sweet sweet dreams.

We could not wait to get our hands on a tub or two of Night Night Hot Chocolate from Yes Please Health (brand child of business babe Leah Itsines) after reading some of the reviews and taking a squiz at the team’s Instagram. If there’s one thing we mums need, it’s a good. night. sleep. For the love of God, please give us a good night sleep!

I know I can’t be alone in the experience of lying in bed tossing and turning, overthinking, struggling to relax, making mental checklists of things to do the following day, and doing everything except drifting off to the land of nod. And that’s when there isn’t a crying bub or a child kicking you in the spleen in your bed involved making sleep the impossible dream!

This is where Night Night Hot Chocolate comes in.

A sleep supplement that actually works

I’m going to admit, I was sceptical at first. I wanted it to be amazing but I’ve been burnt before with hot chocolate (literally and figuratively as it happens!) and have never found a supplement I was compelled to continue taking. As an insomniac from way back I was pretty sure my utter inability to be a normal human and go to sleep (like my husband manages to do the minute he sits on the couch after 8pm) was going to win out over a sleep supplement that wasn’t even laced with any hard sleep-making drugs. I was also sceptical it was going to taste good because… how can it when it’s got like 32 calories in it?

It doesn’t happen often (ha ha) but I was so very happy to be proven wrong when I tried my very first Night Night Hot Chocolate. My first mug was the traditional chocolate variety (but my cupboard is now stocked with every flavour and choc caramel is my MVP). Initially I tried it simply mixed with boiling water according to the serving suggestion on the tub, but I’ve since started adding a little bit of frothed milk to the top… because why not?

Curb your evening sweet tooth

It was love at first night for me and Night Night Hot Chocolate has now become part of my nightly routine. Just as our bubbas have needed sleep cues to help them drift off, Night Night Hot Chocolate is now my very own adult sleep cue. Not only that, but it serves as that little sweet sum’in sum’in that I’m always craving in the evening, but isn’t the giant pack of double coated tim tams that I would usually reach for. Winning!

The active ingredient that helps you get into that dreamy sleep state is magnesium, so yep, you guessed it, this is all natural and isn’t going to leave you with that hung over feeling the next day. Magnesium plays crucial roles in the body, supporting muscle and nerve function as well as energy production. Studies have proven that magnesium makes it easier to fall asleep and improves your sleep quality and also reduces symptoms of restless leg syndrome which can interfere with a good night’s sleep.

Supplement science aside, for me it just tastes darn good and within an hour of my first sip I’m relaxed, sleepy and so ready to hit the hay.

When it comes to Night Night Hot Chocolate, it’s a resounding YES PLEASE from me!
