Book your babysitters, and get out of your active wear, we’re eating out! And we can have a drink too!

South Australia’s Premier Steven Marshall has this morning announced that as of Friday this week, all restaurants and cafes will be able to accommodate 20 diners; with half of these patrons permitted indoors and half outdoors. The early easing of coronavirus restrictions will also include the service of alcohol in these venues. Cheers to that!

Also announced this morning the news that from Friday June 5, just in time for the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, all pubs across the state will be permitted to open.

South Australia’s previous restriction road map contemplated restaurants only allowing 10 outdoor diners, with no alcohol until June 8. Stage Two in the government road map to recovery has been moved forward in order to give hoteliers and patrons the opportunity to boost revenue and morale over the long weekend.

Mr Marshall said the “small changes” were “steps along the path”, and in response to the wishes of the South Australian public.

South Australia has had just one case of coronavirus detected in the past 28 days.
