How one couple’s sleep struggles sparked a new solution
Scandi SLEEP was created by Sarah Gosling after she and her partner struggled with temperature differences and nightly “blanket battles” when they first moved in together. What started as a fix for their own sleep quickly grew into a solution helping families across Australia.
“Not long after launching I started receiving feedback from new mums who began using separate blankets to ease anxiety when co-sleeping or sitting through nighttime feeds,” Sarah said.
“One customer explained that when she started co-sleeping, she wanted to use different covers but only had queen and king sizes. She was worried the covers could move over bub during the night.”

Why parents are turning to separate covers
Scandi SLEEP’s single-size doonas offer a practical, less bulky option that many parents say helps them feel more comfortable and in control when co-sleeping. Smaller covers mean less excess fabric around the bed—something many families find reassuring when sharing sleep spaces with a baby.
For families who don’t co-sleep, using individual covers can also make a big difference. Separate blankets help minimise disturbance when one parent gets up for feeds or settling during the night. The method is also proving helpful for mums who experience night sweats or temperature changes during pregnancy or the postpartum period.
“The benefits go well beyond the newborn phase. Toddlers often climb into bed in the early hours of the morning, so having your own covers reduces overheating and makes it easier for everyone to settle,” Sarah said.
“My mum tells me that as a child I would crawl into her bed, only to take myself back to my own bed because I was too hot under their covers.”
A bedding range designed with families in mind
Scandi SLEEP offers a premium bamboo-cotton bedding range specifically designed for couples using individual covers. The collection includes sheet sets and quilt cover sets that make the Scandinavian Sleep Method accessible, affordable, and aesthetically coordinated—perfect for parents wanting a calm, functional bedroom setup.
The brand recently went viral on TikTok, with couples worldwide sharing how switching to separate covers has transformed their sleep and improved their nightly routine.
“Hearing people’s stories has been incredible. It really confirms that this product is needed. Now the focus is getting the brand and the Scandinavian Sleep Method in front of more Australians,” Sarah said.
